Funded Programs

Thanks to your generous financial support United Way of Greater Texarkana is able to help fund the following programs in our community:

Randy Sam's Outreach Shelter: Housing Program

The goal of the Randy Sam's Housing Program is to assist clients in meeting their immediate needs of food and shelter while providing them with the tools necessary to return to self-sustained community living.

Texarkana Resources for the Disabled: Pre-Vocational and Vocational Training; Transportation

Texarkana Resources Pre-Vocational Training program, through clinic based habilitation training, is designed to assist adults age 18 and over with developmental and intellectual disabilities, who have graduated or have been promoted from high school, to acquire, retain, and improve self-help, socialization, and adaptive skills necessary to reside successfully in the community.

The Vocational Training program, through center and community based training, is designed to assist adults age 16 and over with disabilities, who are in high school, have graduated, or have been promoted from high school to acquire, retain, and improve self-help, socialization and basic vocational skills necessary to be successful in employment.

Transportation services are provided for adults age 16 and over with disabilities who are in high school, have graduated, or have been promoted from high school, with consistent and reliable access to the training and services of Texarkana Resources.
