United Way
believes that the inability to afford school supplies should not be
an obstacle to a child’s success, and that is why this year we teamed
up with Williams Memorial United Methodist Church to facilitate Stuff the Bus.
One way that we
are working to advance the good of all is to ensure that when school
starts each year that every child has the ability to return to the
classroom with all the supplies that are needed for them to be
successful.
This program ensures that all children who need them have access to
the school supplies that are required for back to school. We parked
in front of local Wal-Mart stores, Albertsons, Office Depot, Super–One and asked individuals who can to buy an extra pack of pencils,
paper, glue, crayons, etc. for children in the local school systems.
This is a major effort to create lasting changes in our community,
and we can’t do it alone. We need volunteers to help make the effort
a success.
We are asking you to sign up to help us
collect supplies throughout the year. It only takes a few hours of
your time, but you will be helping to reach out a hand to one and
influence the condition of all.
Because when a child has the ability to start school with one less
obstacle to success, then we all win, and you are illustrating your
commitment to Live United.
There are
two ways you can help.
The
first way to help
is to purchase supplies from our Stuff-the-Bus Needs list and bring
them down to the United Way of Greater Texarkana or Williams Memorial
United Methodist Church.

The
second way to help
is to make a cash donation so that your generosity can help our kids
in the greatest area of need. Please send checks to Williams
Memorial United Methodist Church at 4000 Moores Lane, Texarkana, TX
75503 OR donate ONLINE through PayPal.
Whichever way you choose,
you'll be helping the children we serve get
the quality education and healing treatment
they deserve.
